On the 9th of September, we embarked on an exciting journey with Hope: Phase 1, a commendable initiative by our dedicated committee. This phase of our mental health series focused on an increasingly relevant topic: social media content and consumption. The seminar, led by Mr. Jenoosh Lawrence, who holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Coventry University in the UK and is currently pursuing a Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies, proved to be both enlightening and engaging.

From the moment the session began, participants were fully immersed in a discussion that resonated deeply with today’s digital age. Social media is often viewed as a double-edged sword—on one hand, it’s a tool for connection and information, but on the other, it can overwhelm us with a constant stream of content. Mr. Lawrence expertly guided the audience through this intricate landscape, helping us understand the importance of mindful content consumption.

The seminar not only highlighted the psychological impact of social media but also emphasized strategies to use these platforms more responsibly. Attendees engaged enthusiastically throughout the session, sharing their own experiences and thoughts, making it clear that this topic struck a chord with everyone present.

As Phase 1 of Hope wrapped up, we celebrated the success of the event. The committee’s tireless effort ensured a smooth, insightful experience for all attendees. This seminar is just the beginning—Phase 2 is already in the works and will be coming in October, promising yet another enriching session that you won’t want to miss!

Stay tuned as we continue our journey to promote awareness, knowledge, and self-care in the digital age.
