How It Got Started

The Rotaract Club of Royal Institute of Colombo is an established Chartered Club of the Rotaract International District 3220, Sri Lanka and Maldives. It was established under the patronage of the Rotaract Club of Colombo East. The Rotaract movement is dedicated to the process of developing leadership and professional skills of the youth. The Rotaract Club of Royal Institute of Colombo has close to 100 members, ages ranging from 18-24 who are committed to achieving the goals of Rotary.

The Rotary and its members believe that it is our shared responsibility to find solutions to the world’s persistent issues and to take action against them. The members of rotary work to promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, save mothers and children, support education, grow local economies and protect the environment. Rotary is dedicated to causes that build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever. Inspired by Rotary, we are devoted to find sustainable solutions to current issues the world and our country faces.
