Ever wonder what would happen if, just for one day, kids took charge of everything? Imagine a world where your aunties, uncles, and parents take the day off, and you get to make all the rules. But, in true brown family fashion, things could get... interesting.

1. No More Bedtime (Until Amma Catches You!)

First thing on the list? Bedtime is cancelled! It’s all fun and games until 3 a.m. when the yawns start creeping in, but you keep going. You’re a champion… until Amma wakes up and finds the lights still on. Suddenly, the power goes out—not because of a power cut, but because Amma just switched it off. “Sooo sleepy now, Amma, good night!”

2. Chocolate for Breakfast, Biryani for Dinner (But Where Are your Veggies?)

In this kid-run world, forget about having dhal, roti, or rice for dinner. Chocolate for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and of course, biryani every day! But here’s the twist: Amma and Appa will definitely show up at dinner time asking, “Where are your veggies?!” You’ll soon realize that a world full of only biryani means no treats until the gotukola is eaten.

3. No More Homework! (But You Still Have to Be a Doctor, Engineer, or Lawyer)

The best part about running the world? No more homework! However, don’t get too comfortable. Amma and Appa still expect you to bring home top marks and become a doctor, engineer, or lawyer. “No homework? But you still have to study, no?” Suddenly, the idea of actually doing the homework doesn’t seem so bad anymore.

4. TV All Day, But Don't Let Dad See You!

TV all day long? Yes, please! Finally, you get to watch cartoons, K-dramas, and cricket matches back-to-back without interruptions. But the moment Dad enters the room with a classic “Is this all you do?” look on his face, you pretend to be deep into a documentary about space exploration. “Oh, it’s educational, Dad!”

5. Playground? Make It the Whole House!

Forget the backyard—under your rule, the entire house becomes your playground. The sofa is a trampoline, the hallway is a racetrack, and the kitchen is your lab for new snack experiments. Until, of course, you knock over one too many things, and Amma’s signature chancla (slipper) comes flying your way. “No more jumping!”

6. All Festivals, All the Time

In a brown kid’s world, every day would be a festival. Eid, Deepavali, Vesak, Christmas—you name it, we’re celebrating it all, every day! Can you imagine the endless food, sweets, and gifts? But with so much celebrating comes aunties asking: “When will you get married?” or “What are your future plans?” Suddenly, you’re hiding in your own party!

7. Unlimited Screen Time—Until the Wi-Fi Gets Cut

We’d have unlimited screen time, whether it’s gaming, YouTube, or binge-watching the latest series. But wait—what’s that? The Wi-Fi suddenly stops working because Appa turned it off! “Time to study now,” he says. In this kid-run world, Wi-Fi would never get cut—unless parents still hold the router password.

A Final Thought (from the Kids!):

Running the world sounds fun, but let’s be honest: being a kid in a brown household is a whole adventure by itself. From sneaking extra snacks to dodging questions from aunties, every day brings something new. And on Children's Day, we get to celebrate all the joys (and the funny challenges) of being part of our big, loving families.

So, whether you're sneaking an extra laddu, avoiding homework, or hiding from Dad when you’ve been on your phone too long, remember—this is your day!

Now go grab your favorite snack (before Amma asks if you’ve finished your homework)!

Happy Children’s Day! 🧸✨
