7th Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of Royal Institute of Colombo

The stage was set at the Royal Institute Campus Auditorium on August 23, 2026, as the Rotaract Club of the Royal Institute of Colombo celebrated its 7th Installation Ceremony . Beginning at 2:30 PM, the atmosphere crackled with the energy of over 200 attendees including friends, family, and fellow rotaractors gathered to witness a pivotal milestone in our club’s journey. This grand occasion was elevated by the presence of our distinguished dignitaries, including our Chief Guest, Ms. Madusha Jayasena, Academic Coordinator of the Royal Institute Campus, and Guest of Honor, Rtn. IPP. Gnanakumar Sithambaram. We were equally honored to have the District Rotaract Representative for the year 2026/27, PHF. Rtn. Rtr. PP. Dr. Jude Shanon Lucian, and District Rotaract Chair, Rtn. PP Shehantha Dias . This occasion served as a powerful reminder of our community’s resilience and our shared dedication to uplifting the lives of those around us through youth leadership and fellowship.
Before stepping into the future, we took a moment to honor the extraordinary dedication of our previous leadership. The 2025/26 administrative year was a testament to resilience and purpose, characterized by the successful execution of 40 impactful projects under the leadership of Rtr. IPP. Anudhika Sivanathan. This substantial body of work wove a rich tapestry of service across the club's five essential pillars; Club Service, Community Service, Professional Development, Sports and Recreation, International Service, and Finance. Every initiative served as a vital building block, ensuring that we didn’t just grow, but that we grew with intentionality, leaving a lasting mark on the community and our members alike
The ceremony reached its emotional and symbolic pinnacle as we transitioned from a season of reflection to one of renewal. With the ceremonial collaring, the mantle of leadership was officially passed, marking the commencement of the 7th year under the guidance of our incoming President, Rtr. Anithra De Alwis. Alongside her, the newly appointed Executive Board and the Board of Directors was introduced, stepping forward with fresh enthusiasm and a clear-eyed vision. This transition was more than a formal handover; it was the passing of the torch to a team ready to uphold our club's proud legacy while embracing the exciting challenges of the administrative year ahead.
As we step into the 2026-27 administrative year, our roadmap is defined by a new theme that captures the heart of our mission; “Serve with Purpose, Impact with Passion.” Reflecting on the movement’s immense potential, President Rtr. Anithra De Alwis envisions a year where Rotaract is experienced not as just another club or commitment, but as a transformative movement where members can grow, create, serve, and forge lifelong memories. By focusing on initiatives that genuinely change lives, we are dedicated to cultivating a space where our members find personal inspiration and purpose. With this passionate vision at the helm, we are ready to move beyond the ordinary and ensure that every action we take leaves a meaningful, lasting impact to the society.
