A Season of Giving, A Legacy of Love

For the Rotaract Club of Royal Institute of Colombo (RACRIC), the true meaning of Christmas goes far beyond lights and festivities—it's about creating impact, sharing warmth, and building hope. Our annual signature initiative, 12 Days of Christmas, returned this year with twelve thoughtfully curated sub-projects, each crafted to touch lives in a unique and heartfelt way.

We began with Street Paws, offering food, love, and medical care to stray animals who are often forgotten during the season. Day two brought Santa’s Surprise, a joyful day spent with the children of Sri Gnanendra Vidyalaya—complete with gifts, games, carols, and laughter. Colours of Joy followed, where we painted, planted, and played at a child development center, bringing colour and care into young lives.

හද ගැස්ම took us to Shantha Sevana Hospice, where we extended donations and compassion to cancer patients. Heartfelt Highlights was a celebration of gratitude, dedicated to the minor staff of RIC through music, games, and appreciation. With Light of Love, we brought companionship and conversation to the elderly at Davit Jayasundara Elders Home.

Day seven saw Senehase Pathuma, where we donated dry rations to underprivileged families at St. Anthony’s Church. Then came Gifted Joy, a beautiful initiative of giving presents and joy to children in need. Through Elder Ease, we supported a senior community with essential supplies and shared emotional warmth. Treasured Minds focused on mental well-being, encouraging reflection, awareness, and resilience.

On day eleven, Sanasa brought care and essentials to expecting mothers at Sarvodaya Suwasetha Society—nurturing hope for new beginnings. Finally, we ended with Empower Flow, a long-term initiative to construct a special needs washroom at Wethara Maha Vidyalaya, continuing our commitment to dignity, access, and sustainable impact.

12 Days of Christmas has become more than a project—it is a movement within our club. Each day carried with it a purpose, a story, and a connection. Together, they created a mosaic of compassion that reminded us that when service meets sincerity, magic happens.

Because giving is not just an act—it’s a legacy we build, one day at a time. 💛
